The Lie Behind Working Hard For Success by Vishen Lakhiani

Vishen Lakhiani, the founder of Mindvalley, arguably the best personal growth and self-development company in the present. He is also The New York Times Best Selling Author of "The Code of The Extraordinary Mind", now available in more than 20 different languages.

Our idea of working hard leads to success, is now obsolete. Vishen believes that focus and hard work only works when you are at level 1 or 2 in the 4-stages of consciousness.

Read on to find out more about the 4-stages of consciousness and how to unlock success.

Take a second to ponder upon the chart below:

When you are at level 3 or 4, your personal growth is on autopilot, you do not need focus or hard work anymore.

One of the best techniques that I found useful is called "Segment Intending"
Divide your day into segments. It can be 2 or 5 or even 10 segments depending on your day. Example:

1. The "morning routine before going to work" segment.
2. The "meetings before lunch" segment.
3. The "after-work workout" segment.
4. The "Netflix & chill after dinner" segment

And for every segment, ask yourself - wouldn't it be nice if.....

1. Wouldn't it be nice if I end my work with satisfaction?
2. Wouldn't it be nice if I had a great workout after work?
3. Wouldn't it be nice if I have a quality conversation with my loved ones during dinner?

Vishen has been mentioned by many famous superstars that succeed by applying his techniques.  One of his success stories is from NFL Pro Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez that mentions his 6-phase meditation.  A 19-year-old tennis player Bianca Andreescu applying his technique and defeat world no.1, Serena Williams, in the US open just recently. Pop Star Singer Miguel also meditates with the 6-phase before his concerts. Gerard Butler, known for his roles for King Leonidas of Sparta in 300 said "This meditation is so incredible. If everybody did this our world would be a very different place. Our future would not seem so bleak." And the list goes on.

His book "The Code of The Extraordinary Mind" has hit Amazon.com #1 Book globally for FIVE times in 2017 alone. Surpassing books from Tolkien and Rowlings.

Believe it or not, this extraordinary person is born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He went to the Malaysian Government School for most of his life just like most of us. The Mindvalley office is also located at Kuala Lumpur.

"Epic things start with small humble steps. Pay respect to your beginnings. And if you're just starting out, know that it's OK to be sucky. To be small. To be messy and chaotic. Just make sure to never ever stop dreaming."
